Arrested Development

Here’s another show that was canceled before its time. Everyone you know has already seen it, but if for some reason you can’t borrow someone’s DVDs (or maybe you don’t want to admit to never watching it), Hulu Plus has all three seasons available for streaming. That’s 53 episode of George-Michael, Gob, never-nudes, Blue Man Group and fugitive real estate developers. The One Where Michael Leaves is one of my favorites, but if you’ve never seen it, it’s probably better to start from the beginning. Even if you watched it the first time around, maybe you’ll want a refresher before the movie comes out.

Party Down

If you don’t have Starz, you probably never even heard of this show. It was Entourage for underachievers, which I suppose fits its home channel. The show’s creator, Rob Thomas (no, not that one), isn’t really known for working on shows you’d ever want to watch. Though he also created the cult-hit UPN/CW show Veronica Mars, which gave the world Kristen Bell (and has significant cast overlap with Party Down).

The show stars Adam Scott (who’s in theaters now in the dreadfully awesome Piranha 3D) as a failed actor who quits showbiz and retreats to his old catering job. The show was canceled, but both seasons are available on Netflix streaming. So grab your iPad or pop your Netflix disc into your Wii and enjoy. Then when you’re through both season, join me in cursing Starz for killing a good show.

Welcome to Qworthy

Cable isn’t dead yet, but its demise gets closer every day—thanks, in part, to all the great content available on streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. While it’s pretty easy to find the latest (and the most popular) titles on both sites, there are some gems buried deep within the recesses of streaming catalogs.

This site will focus on finding and sharing those gems, with occasional diversions into streaming news. If you’ll allow us to indulge ourselves, we’ll also feature some easier-to-find shows and movies just because we like them.

And, if you have any suggestions for content to feature, send them to info@qworthy.com.
